Traveling to the Bitter End Yacht Club
Posted Under: Getting to the Bitter End Yacht Club
Karin and I just returned from a fabulous stay at the Bitter End Yacht Club in beautiful Virgin Gorda, BVI. Since this was my first trip to the BVI, I didn’t quite know what to expect. The trip was smooth – no glitches with lost luggage or missed connections. We arrived at the Ft. Lauderdale airport and had no problem checking in at the Spirit airlines desk. Karin says that it looks as if Spirit has put in a larger counter, which allowed speedier check-in.
The flight to St. Thomas took about 2 1/2 hours. After landing and gathering our luggage, we were met by Warren Gordon’s taxi service. We were impressed with the clean van and the driver’s friendlieness and good driving. I would recommend him to anyone needing a taxi in St. Thomas. He can be contacted by email at warrengtaxi@yahoo.com or by phone at (340)474-0090.
The next leg of our journey found us on Speedy’s ferry. Even being “speedy,” it took 1 3/4 hours to reach Virgin Gorda. If time is crucial, you may want to take the shorter, 15-minute flight from St. Thomas to Virgin Gorda.
